This unique 60s alt-folk-rock trio is made up of Rick Groves, Brian Morris and Doug Hearn. Fueled by their love of music, hockey and Monty Python, they became the best of friends.
In those days they were known as Sunset and their early gigs included performing at coffee houses in and around Montreal. Amazingly they are somehow again performing together 5 decades later.
Drawing on many diverse influences of musicians, such as the Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Johnny Cash, Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen and newer bands and artists, they perform songs stretching over more than six decades. From compelling versions of cover songs done in their unique style, to powerful originals performed from the heart, they will move you while not taking themselves too seriously. While producing a wall of acoustic music magic their goal is to always entertain.
Influences: The Beatles, Eurythmics, Neil Young, Everly Brothers
Group members: Rick Groves, Brian Morris, Doug Hern
Rick is dedicated to bringing audiences a non-stop performance of crowd pleasing songs that keep things lively and upbeat.
Keyboard, vocals, percussion
Doug is kept busy with his many talents that bring a wholeness to the music. Playing keyboard is an asset to Child of the Rain's covers of music from the 80's, when it was a staple instrument in so many bands.
Guitar, percussion, vocals
Completing the trio Child of the Rain is multi-talented Brian who can be seen equally dividing his time between guitar and percussion, or just as easily doing both at the same time with the aid of some fancy footwork.
