Rebekah Hawker is a country singer-songwriter from Barrie, Ontario. Her lyrics are a serious affair, evoking powerful images that give authenticity to the ups and downs strewn throughout her musical tales. Humble, self deprecating and consistently hilarious, Rebekah smiles often and easy, and it takes only one look through a crowd to see that it’s contagious.
With assistance from FACTOR’s Artist Development program in 2019 and 2020, Rebekah released her debut EP ‘Careful Women’ and in 2020 her song ‘Catch You’ won Folk Music Ontario’s Songs from the Heart award.
In 2021 she released her follow up single ‘Lonely’ accompanied by a self-directed music video satirizing the exhausting experience of online dating in an increasingly virtual world.
The night begins with the wonderful Nicolette Hoang (Nicolette and The Nobodies) presenting an opening set. Ian Bain will accompany her on some sort of stringed instrument.
