“I play rock electric guitar, but also for the last 10 years have really developed my fingerstyle guitar playing, in which Fort Hemlock is written. I play pubs around the area singing with my wife and it is great fun,” he noted.

Dorsch said he wants to raise awareness of the video, while raising the spirits of those who hear it. He is open to the idea of this song being used to encourage tourism and raise the profile of the town, he said.

“I also want to raise my profile as a musician in the area and beyond,” he said. “Currently I am working on tracks for a new solo album of original music.”

Dorsch started playing guitar when he was 13, developing over the past four decades to more fingerstyle tunes from guitarists like Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel, James Taylor, Peter Gabriel, pop, rock and folk.

Most recently John Dorsch has been performing solo or as a duet with his wife, Dani.
