An Evening With The Queen Of Country Music- Carroll Baker with supporting act, Johnson’s Creek Band
Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Carroll Baker, a Canadian country music singer and songwriter is a recipient of five Juno awards and hosted her own Canadian TV show (The Carroll Baker Jamboree), as well as three specials for the CBC. She scored two country hits in the U.S., “Mama What Does Cheatin’ Mean” and “It Always Hurts Like the First Time”. In 1992 she was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and in 2009 became a Member of the Order of Canada “for her achievements as a Canadian country music singer and songwriter”.
Johnson’s Creek, a combination of high energy country rock with classic country standards and mix a growing catalogue of original material and you have the ingredients for a potent four-piece ensemble from Southern Ontario named Johnson’s Creek. inspired by the likes of The Road Hammers and The Georgia Satellites or more classic standards influenced by Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams, Johnson’s Creek has the unique ability to appeal to a wide variety of country music demographics.
